Yo Penang peeps! We’re back at the one and only Reggae Cafe, nestled away on Lebuh Pantai. This ain’t our first reggae rendezvous, and for good reason. Not only do they boast a tropical paradise vibe that melts your stress away, but their food selection is legendary. We’re talking over 100 cakes (yes, you read that right!), scrumptious main courses, and enough space to gather your whole island posse.
This time, we set sail on a culinary adventure with their new menu, and let me tell you, it was a flavor explosion! We dived into the Smoked Salmon Salad, a refreshing medley of greens, creamy avocado, and melt-in-your-mouth salmon that had us swaying to island beats.
Next up, the Tuna Pizza rocked our taste buds with its perfectly crispy crust, tangy tomato sauce, and generous chunks of tuna that tasted like it just leaped out of the ocean.
Feeling the tropical heat, we cooled down with the Thai Green Curry Chicken. This dish was a symphony of sweet, spicy, and creamy goodness, with tender chicken chunks and vibrant veggies making each bite a party in our mouths. ️
And to satisfy our burger cravings, the Salted Egg Chicken Burger delivered big time. The juicy chicken patty was coated in a dreamy salted egg sauce, nestled between pillowy buns, and topped with crunchy slaw for a textural fiesta. We were definitely feeling “irie” after that one!
Now, no Reggae Cafe visit is complete without indulging in their cake kingdom. We embarked on a sweet quest, conquering the Raspberry Cheesecake, a delightful dance of tangy berries and creamy cheese on a buttery biscuit base. The Mango Coconut Brulee was a tropical dream come true, with its smooth custard nestled under a caramelized sugar crown and bursts of juicy mango.
And for the ultimate nutty indulgence, the Caramelised Cashewnut Cheesecake hit all the right notes. Each bite was a symphony of rich cheesecake, crunchy cashews, and a touch of sweet caramel that had us humming reggae tunes long after the last crumb was gone.
To wash down all this deliciousness, we sipped on their Mango Orange Julep and Jingle Spritz. The Julep was a burst of sunshine in a glass, with fresh mango and mint muddled to perfection. The Spritz, a bubbly blend of cranberry and citrus, was the perfect way to end our reggae feast feeling refreshed and revitalized.
So, whether you’re a reggae regular or a first-time visitor, Reggae Cafe Penang is a must-try. With its chilled vibes, amazing food, and endless cake selection, it’s the perfect place to escape the ordinary and indulge in a little island paradise. We’ll definitely be back soon for another round of good eats and good vibes! ️
