First up was the Curry Katsu (Chicken) RM26 – a dish that did not disappoint. The deep-fried chicken cutlet was crispy and juicy, served on a bed of rice and topped with creamy Japanese curry that had just the right amount of spice. The dish was finished off with a generous serving of shredded cabbage and scallions, providing a refreshing crunch that complemented the flavors perfectly.
Next, we tried the Thai-style Lime and Shrimp (RM26) – a delicious and flavorful spaghetti dish that had us wanting more. The Thai-inspired hot and sour sauce was drizzled over the spaghetti, which was topped with fresh shrimps, pickled red onions, and fried shallots. The combination of flavors was both tangy and spicy, making it a dish that will tantalize your taste buds.
Finally, we sampled the Cheesy Mash n’ Chicken Ham (RM20) – a comfort food lover’s dream come true. The creamy whipped potatoes were mixed with mozzarella cheese, giving them a rich and cheesy flavor. The roasted potatoes and crispy chicken ham added texture and depth to the dish, while the side salad and parsley butter-toasted bagel rounded out the meal perfectly.
If you’re a dessert lover, then you won’t want to miss out on the sweet treats at Cherie Cafe in Penang. Their newly launched food menu is not the only reason to visit this cafe – their desserts are equally impressive. During our recent visit, we had the chance to sample some of their signature cakes and we were not disappointed.
First up, we tried their super signature and super cute mini cake – the Earl Grey Milk Tea Mini Cake. The earl grey tea chiffon was light and airy, topped with earl grey tea-infused cream and a marshmallow. The flavor was delicate and fragrant, making it a perfect dessert for any tea lover.
In addition to their mini cakes, we also tried Cherie Cafe signature Greek Yogurt Cheesecake. The texture was smooth and creamy, with a subtle tanginess from the Greek yogurt. The cheesecake was topped with fresh strawberries that were imported from Korea, adding a touch of sweetness that perfectly balanced out the tanginess of the cheesecake.
We were impressed with the attention to detail that went into each dessert. The cakes were freshly made daily, and it showed in the quality and taste of each bite. The presentation of the cakes was also noteworthy – they were beautifully decorated and looked almost too pretty to eat.
We tried some of Cherie Cafe signature drinks, and we were blown away by both the taste and the presentation.
First up, we tried the Before Sunset (RM16), which is a citrusy yuzu honey soda. This drink was refreshing and had a nice balance of sweet and tangy flavors. But what really caught our attention was the presentation – the drink came in a tall glass with a vibrant orange color and a sprig of fresh mint, making it not only tasty but also a feast for the eyes.
Next, we tried the GAN (RM16), which is a Mandarin orange black tea. The tea had a rich, robust flavor that was perfectly complemented by the tanginess of the mandarin oranges. And, once again, the presentation was stunning – the tea came in a clear glass with slices of mandarin orange and a sprig of fresh mint.
Finally, we tried the Lotus Biscoff Latte (RM16). This latte had a rich, creamy flavor that was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of the Lotus Biscoff cookie. And, of course, the presentation was once again on point – the latte came in a beautiful ceramic mug with a Lotus Biscoff cookie on the top.
In conclusion, Cherie Cafe in Penang is a must-visit for anyone looking for a cafe with great food, desserts, and drinks. So why wait? Head on over to Cherie Cafe and indulge in a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds!
